Guy's I have always said we should all stick together as a hunting community and I mean that, regardless of what our personal opinions may be about other hunting activities, trappers are very much apart of our hunting community even if we ourselves do not trap. Their way of life is their way of life and as much as we try to protect our own hunting interest be it duck hunting or of the like, even our brothers need support and protection. As a community of sportsmen we should do all that we can to combat being isolated from each other. The opposition to hunting and all forms of it, do their best to isolate us from each other. Any attack on hunting is an attack on us all!
Bill Smith Region 5 Waterfowler Region 3 Conservationist Iowa Sportsmen 712-253-0362 FHD101@AOL.COM Below is information I received today regarding our brothers way of life.
Tonight I received word from Ron Andrews that on Tues Nov 24th at 9:30 am, the supervisors in that county will be discussing eliminating ROW trapping during their regular meeting. It is his belief that they could do this because the county holds the easements for the ROW. They can make rules that are more restrictive than that of the state, so in essence they could accomplish this. Giving everyone a heads up on this to contact those supervisors and let them know how this will impact the trapper.
Ron did not have any information on what is spurring this, only that he was contacted by the biologist for that region Chris LaRue who was contacted by one of the supervisors for that county.

The above link will get you to their website, from there click on supervisors and the five board members will pop up, click on a name and your email program should bring up your email program on your computer. Be polite and courteous when writing please.
The ITA president and other board members are aware of this and I'm sure will be moving on it.
